May 21 2015: John Thebeau, Jr., 62, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, has died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained in a fatal rollover car accident, which occurred on Tuesday while he was driving south on Route 1 in Saugus. According to police, prior to the accident, a silver or grey SUV caused a commercial vehicle traveling in the right lane to swerve to its left, and hit Thebeau’s dump truck. Thebeau’s truck then collided with the guardrail, causing it to flip over several times.
Members of the Saugus Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident scene. Emergency responders took over life saving efforts from a Good Samaritan, who had been performing CPR before their arrival. However, Theabau was already in cardiac arrest and they were unable to revive him.
The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the accident and are searching for the driver of the SUV, who fled the scene. Anyone with information of the driver’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact police.
